Jacob's

These are some marker pen and fine line sketches. Jacob sheep are found across the UK, made popular as a decorative parkland breed, these are now known to be good a all rounders for smallholders. They have a characteristic piebald coat, and wonderful curving horns.

FLiGht BrIGaDE

A seven piece band, beautiful melody and thoughtful lyrics which lead inevitably to the creation of an energetic and wholesome atmosphere. the band look totally relaxed on stage reminiscent of a bohemian family. the players needed little report as they let the music wash over the audience and do the talking. Flight Brigade are soon to go on BBC introducing and i think they deserve to go far. Google 'Flight Brigade' and have a listen online. The the set ended with an encore of one of their catchier tunes, 'A girl who loves her smoke and wine' check this out and their wonderfully edited homemade video. (Photo of band to come).

LEEK

This time of year the winter veg is coming out having been growing through the summer, Leeks are one of the most versatile and one of my favourites. I've been experimenting with using oil on old seasoned plank as a medium. The beautifully toned wood with remnants of scrapped off paint gives a soft backdrop to this organic structure.

summers past

An oil on board of a swallow, Hirundo rustica, and cinnabar moth, Tyria jacobaeae. Just a reminder of the summer thats past and the sunny skies that will be again in a few months time. The Cinnabar is one of a few day flying moths found in the UK, its brightly patterned larvae can often be found feeding on ragwort which protects them by passing on its toxicity as they feed on it.

The Studio Hut

this is the space in which i work while in sunny sussex, it is an old summer house and the interior currently holds what i call 'inspiration' although really its just a load of postcards and pictures collected over several months.
