summers past

An oil on board of a swallow, Hirundo rustica, and cinnabar moth, Tyria jacobaeae. Just a reminder of the summer thats past and the sunny skies that will be again in a few months time. The Cinnabar is one of a few day flying moths found in the UK, its brightly patterned larvae can often be found feeding on ragwort which protects them by passing on its toxicity as they feed on it.
